Vet visit today...

Her temp has actually been up in the lower 100 range for the first time this week.  She had her progesterone level checked this morning and it was 7 ng, anything under 2 ng indicates whelp within 12-24 hours.  So she's declining but not quite there yet.  Vet wants another check and exam early Friday morning to see if we can catch it before  heading into the long weekend.  However, tonight she is really restless, pacing, laying down for a minute and getting back up to pace some more.  She can't seem to get comfortable.  Latest temperature check was back down to 99.0, will see where she is in the morning! She is also up to 56 lbs! So she's now gained 13 pounds which is incredible! It's all puppy too as the rest of her body is still in awesome shape, she's just a walking beach ball now! Check back often as we are getting closer!

Making room...

She's having to spread all the way out to get comfortable! The puppies have to be jam packed in there but when she lays like this I can see them moving all around, it's pretty neat! Temperature is holding steady in the 99's.  Her vet will probably take a look at  her tomorrow and run some blood tests to narrow down date.  Today is day 60 fom first AI.

Getting closer

Luna's temperature has been a yoyo.  It's been going from 98.4 to 99.4 and back and forth all day.  We'll see what the vet says in the morning! She's starting to get restless and is following me everywhere, more than usual! However, she is still eating...typically they refuse food close to going in to labor.  I'll be shocked if this dog turns down food EVER, but we'll see! She probably won't go too much longer, she won't be able to walk by Thursday! Keep checking back!

Counting down...

After several days of her temp holding steady between 99.5 and 99.9, tonight it dropped to 98.9 and 99.0! I am going to start taking it every few hours from here on out rather than only twice a day! Once it drops below 98 it's showtime!  I'd like those pups to stay in and marinate for a few more days, so hopefully this temperature drop is a fluke! Stay posted

Almost there!

Luna had her prewhelp X-ray on August 26, 2011.  We are expecting a large litter and all pups look healthy! They should make their appearance sometime this upcoming week! Expect lots of brindles and whites!

 Luna was matched with Ajax of the Wrinkle Ranch in Arlington, WA and their pups should be amazing.  Luna is leggy and athletic, while Ajax is the fat-headed, extreme-wrinkled bulldog type!  She is also a very healthy girl and has not exhibited any of the typical bulldog health problems- skin conditions, cherry eye etc.
